A series of events have been organised throughout the year of 2017 to help celebrate the 50th anniversary of Hall Lane Methodist Church in Whitwick.
The latest event has been a flower festival with the theme of ‘Rejoice!’. Thirteen displays were created which celebrated different aspects of the church’s past and present. These included weddings, music, worship and preaching, food and fellowship amongst others.
A number of amateur flower arrangers from Hall Lane Church and churches across North West Leicestershire including Marlborough Square Methodist, Ebenezer Baptist and Ashby St Helens made the displays.
Over 400 visitors came to view the displays and enjoy the lunches and refreshments on offer. There were two special services led by minister Rev Janet Tanner which were well attended.
